Our Grade 1 Classes
Fun and rhythm oriented, tap dancing emphasises both footwork and upper-body technique.
Tap has evolved and become popularised throughout the world, with a range of possible origins from African Dance, Irish Dance and/or Clog Dancing.
The dancers use their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing shoes that have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound.
Tap dance is often seen in theatrical productions.

All 3 of my daughters have attended The Forristal School of Dance and have loved every minute of it. Deirdre is a fantastic teacher and has such a passion for dance. Her energy and commitment shines through.
In her fun, dynamic classes she encourages and nurtures her students to learn, progress and excel in the art of dance and all the while greatly improving their confidence as they grow.juanita mc fadden
